Job Summary

FIRST REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS JANUARY 3RD
The Social Worker- Child Mental Health Family Community Support, supports children diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance, and their families, by providing community-based programming and activities for children and families receiving Children's Mental Health Case Management. The Social Worker identifies and/or develops activities and/or programs in the community which have the potential to be healthy and enjoyable to this population of children & families.
Examples of Duties

  • Provides/Develops community based programming the needs of Child Mental Health-CMH Clients.
  • Collaborates and communicates with service providers, clients, and other involved parties such as area businesses and program providers, Rice County Social Services Case Managers & Coworkers, school personnel, therapists, psychiatrists, county attorneys, judges, guardians, foster parents, law enforcement, probation officers, treatment facilities, and financial workers
  • Completes and maintains required documentation for client contacts. Documentation includes but is not limited to SSIS, case notes, time reporting.
  • Attends training sessions and staff/community meetings as directed.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Mental Health resources and community resources.
  • Provides orientation and training for new staff and support of interns.
  • Provides case management for Children's Mental Health clients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services field, and two years' supervised experience working with children with emotional disturbances and their families, or equivalent. A valid Driver's license is required upon hire.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Social Work and experience as a county Social Worker in the area of Children's Mental Health. Bilingual (English/Spanish and/or English/Somali)

Supplemental Information

HOURS: Business Hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Part-time hours equal 20 hours per week
