GENERAL PURPOSE

As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of embedded software in support of our full spectrum of Linux-based audiovisual and unified communications devices.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design and develop simple software components for Linux-based devices
  • Perform reviews of design and code artifacts
  • Follow established software development processes and procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with external groups and engineers from a variety of disciplines
  • Demonstrate our five core values of Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment and Continuous Improvement
  • Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Working knowledge of core languages relevant to the position's specific area of focus
  • Ability to effectively learn about and apply technologies relevant to the position's specific area of focus
  • Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to work effectively with close direction
  • Must be able to function in a deadline driven environment

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • General office environment
  • May require regular ground travel to other company facilities
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed
