Scope of Position

This position is directly responsible for consistent management of various contracts necessary in the day-to-day operations of Land & Community Engagement. This includes oversight of the Land & Community Engagement vendor contract management process and leads landowner document processing, as well as the development of specific standards for the procurement process, including bidding, submission, contract negotiations, invoice review and approval and document management. This role requires close collaboration with in-house legal, LCE Leadership and team, as well as other various departments.

Responsibilities

50% - Consultant/Vendor Contracts:

    Provides direct contract support, such as review of contractual documents, to ensure protection of company's contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements and adherence to company policies.
  • Manages preparation of contract agreements using corporate approved templates and coordinates contract document execution.
  • Collaborates with the business unit to create, negotiate, and finalize contractual documents, including Master Service Agreements, Scopes of Work, Change Orders, and Amendments and ensure proper support of administration and proposal preparation.
  • Assists with coordination of contract insurance requirements.
  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and as needed, provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
  • Review, track and approve contractor invoices
  • Track, prepare, and communicate information on contract status to the involved parties.
  • Escalates contract term issues as necessary to Legal team, follow through, as well as handle general customer questions/requests.
  • Provides technical and contract-related guidance to assigned personnel and ensures proficiency and timeliness of contract administration.
  • Helps develop and refine the contracting process.

45% - Landowner Document Processing Tracking of landowner package from receipt through successful execution and recording.

  • Facilitate and coordinate in-house landowner contract execution and distribution of final documents.
  • Prepare documents for recording and send final original documents to Corporate Office.
  • Supervise a team of 1-3

5% - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, Paralegal certification a plus.
  • Managing and negotiating contracts, statements of work, etc., preferably within the renewable energy sector
  • Must be able to read, review, understand and edit contract scopes of work
  • Understanding of key contract terms and conditions (e.g. price, acceptance, delivery, liability, indemnity, and other boilerplate contract terms)
  • Prior experience issuing and reviewing Purchase Orders, Consulting Agreements, Master Service Agreements, and Nondisclosure Agreements.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities -

  • Takes initiative, is self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing more than one project at a time.
  • Adaptive, able to work on an undefined project and quick to learn.
  • Ability to work within a team of land development professionals and to prioritize tasks within each project to meet the needs of the team.

Physical Requirements: Limited physical requirements. Occasional file sorting and mailing, scanning, etc. may lead to standing up and down, bending up and down, and moving boxes.

Working Conditions: 90% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 10% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors' and/or internal customers' sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.

Fiscal Responsibilities: Responsible for the creation of landowner payments in accounting system
