About this position

The dietary aide performs a variety of dietary tasks (trayline, dishroom, cleaning, stocking, sanitation, mopping, serving, special function service, patient tray delivery) in order to provide quality and appropriate service to promote customer satisfaction. Handles food operations per department and regulatory standards. Follows requirements for nutrition needs of age specific customer populations through adherence to Diet Office tray tickets and NMHC diet lists.

$1000 Sign-on Bonus

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus. Current team members or former team members employed by North Memorial Health, Maple Grove Health or Blaze Health in the last six (6) months are not eligible to receive a sign on bonus. Sign-on bonuses have a repayment commitment, and a prorated repayment is required if the commitment is not fulfilled.

What we'll expect from you

* Meets customer needs both in person and on the telephone.
* Prepares designated menu items according to standard serving guidelines.
* Sets-up and maintains assigned work area in specified manner. (Refer to position work summary sheet.)
* Practices safe food handling procedures.
* Serves menu items with correct serving sizes.
* Inspects food to insure freshness of ingredients. Measures and mixes ingredients according to protocol under sanitary conditions.
* Checks to see that all items served are eye appealing and of good quality.
* Monitors temperature at designated times.
* Cleans, sanitizes dispensing machines, refrigerators/freezers, stock carts, deli shelves, snack racks, condiment and flatware trays utilizing standard procedures: yogurt, ice cream, milk, beverages, packaged deli items, coffee machines.
* Fills and properly stocks dispensing machines, carts, lowerators and racks with appropriate items.
* Sets-up work station /operates cash register.
* Sanitizes and maintains order of assigned work area.
* Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, carts and minor equipment according to cleaning procedure along with sorting dishes and flatware.
* Cleans grill and deep fryer.
* Cleans and sanitizes tables/ booths/ chairs.
* Empties trash and disposes in appropriate location and breaks down cardboard boxes.
* Prepares and delivers all coffee and food to designated areas.
* Sets-up/ services/ delivers customer room dining service.
* Moves carts of food and equipment from one area to another.
* Sets-up and serves and replenishes food/ beverages.
* Cleans-up of area upon completion according to procedure.
* Follows a diagram for specific design of a room set-up.
* Stacks and unstacks chairs (12 lbs. each, stacked 8 high) and moves tables weighing 40-50 lbs. each.
* Opening/ closing of large room dividers.
* Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.

* High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
* Must be at least 16 years of age.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Former institutional food service experience preferred, but not required. * Ability to problem solve in utilizing tally sheets
* Ability to perform basic math equations
* Ability to discern the difference in size and purpose of portion control
* Understands standard portions and the importance of portion control.
* Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English.
* Must be able to speak to and greet customers in English in tray delivery/retail service.
* Must be a minimum of 18 years to operate the dish washer and the compactor.
