About the Job

The Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota invites applications to join the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Division at the academic rank of assistant, associate, or full professor on our Luminal GI team. Positions are available on the Academic or Master Clinician tracks. Our current strengths include microbiome science, inflammatory bowel disease, and use of artificial intelligence in endoscopy. We will continue to build on these strengths, but also expand our work in functional GI diseases, motility and neurogastroenterology. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in general gastroenterology and a focused clinical interest in one of these areas.

It is expected that an applicant will have completed their training with a strong record of clinical service, research and teaching. In addition, the candidate is expected to have demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines, engagement in national GI professional societies and publication records to portend strong academic potential.

We are a forward-looking division, which embraces the roles of Nutrition and GI Health Psychology in providing care for our patients as well as developing research programs in these aspects of gastroenterology practice. We believe in team science and collaboration with basic researchers across our large University. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology offers:
* Academic tertiary care with established fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as an advanced endoscopy fellowship and a Hepatology fellowship.
* State-of-the-art facilities including newly built clinics and endoscopy suites
* Opportunities for continued development with educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with top specialists

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: M.D. plus three years residency in Internal Medicine, three years fellowship in gastroenterology including competence in basic endoscopic procedures, and are board-eligible or certified in Gastroenterology.
