South Lake Pediatrics is in the process of recruiting for a Pediatrician to join our group. South Lake Pediatrics is a single specialty, private practice treating patients from newborns, infants, children and adolescents through the college years. We have four locations in the western suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN, with a team of both Pediatricians and Certified Nurse Practitioners /Lactation Consultants. Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and treatment of newborns, infants, children and adolescents including but not limited to:
Making a diagnosis and administering a course of treatment using knowledge, experience, logic, good judgement, analysis and other high-level reasoning skills to identify the strengths, weaknesses and relative costs, benefits and efficacy of different courses of treatment
Responsibility for providing and monitoring ongoing patient care, sometimes for chronic disease, from birth to early adulthood
Communicating effectively with staff, other healthcare providers, patients, and parents
Collecting medical history and ordering appropriate medical tests
Timely and appropriate completion of patient medical records
Frequent multi-tasking and ability to work effectively within time constraints
Attention to detail
Ability to make life and death decisions in critical care situations
Rounds to hospitals to see newborns
Regularly scheduled call coverage up to one 24-hour period every two weeks, including potentially emergent calls
Regular attendance and participation at physician meetings
Qualifications:
Experience working as a Pediatrician in a clinic setting and/or acute setting preferred.
Medical Doctorate degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
Must have current, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical Licensure.
Minimum 24 patient contact hours per week.
