Procurement Category Specialist - Services Procurement, Optimize
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in Stamford, CT, Miramar, FL, Philadelphia, PA, Waltham MA, or Atlanta GA and you will work with services procurement, part of Mckinsey's Optimize function, that delivers distinctive, and positive experiences through various services ranging from travel, events, real estate, sourcing, technology and purchasing.
As part of the Optimize Service Procurement team, you will work with legal, hr center of excellence, our managed service provider, finance and stakeholders across the firm to support the onboarding of external suppliers into the firm's external worker program.
What You'll Do
You will oversee regional operations within the global external worker/contingent workforce program reporting to the services procurement manager.
This includes supporting the onboarding of new external worker suppliers and defining regional supplier and performance strategy while balancing the existing contracting process (global and regional) with additional project work designed to update and enhance the process itself and contributes to the firm's and department's knowledge.
You will build a strong partnership with major regional suppliers and stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies that optimize value, and you will define and implement regional supplier rationalization opportunities and shape supplier performance management expectations and cadence for review.
You will support the onboarding of suppliers into an external worker program by providing support during the contracting lifecycle including drafting initial contractual documents working from template addendums and amendments, coordinating with the legal procurement team, and shepherding the contract through execution and handoff to the managed service provider. You will engage and educate sponsors and suppliers on operational processes, and partner closely with the HR center of excellence counterpart when evaluating processes, identifying and implementing improvements (including technology/automation) as well as bring best in class external worker strategies for review and implementation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of commercial contract experience including drafting and reviewing of simple master service agreements and statements of work; prior experience in services procurement/contingent labor, VMS (vendor management system) experience is a plus
  • Project management experience
  • Good time management skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel; comfort developing effective communications in PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain highly collaborative relationships
  • Ability to communicate well with all senior leaders, both verbal and written
