  • Summary/Primary Objective of Position:
    To provide leadership and supervision for all district-wide procurement activities and manage property and liability insurance programs, Workers Compensation program, and copying services.

    Job Responsibilities:
    1. Coordinate and direct all purchasing with district departments and schools to assure cost effective and timely orders, including assisting with purchasing decisions and arranging for the transfer/disposal of furniture and equipment, and all direct pay transactions.
    2. Manage District purchasing card program including working with bank for authorizations, credit limits, and fraud issues. Review all purchases.
    3. Manage all copying needs of the district, including the leasing or purchase of copying equipment, supervising the district copy center, and develop and maintain method of copy service chargebacks to buildings and departments.
    4. Manage District property and liability insurance programs including reporting of property and casualty claims and manage Workers compensation program.
    5. Oversee the public bidding and quoting process, including writing specifications, placing legal bid advertisements, evaluating proposals/bids and making recommendation for award.
    6. Direct and manage school board and referendum elections, including recruiting and training election judges, preparation of ballots, publishing legal notices, and writing resolutions requiring school board action pertaining to elections.
    7. Maintain all records for construction and Long-Term Facilities Maintenance projects.
    8. Develop and maintain purchasing procedures that meet the requirements of state law, school board policy, and sound business practices.
    9. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.


    Job Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent preparation related to the responsibilities of the position.
    2. Evidence of previous successful leadership or supervisory experience.
    3. Experience in purchasing in either public or private sector operation.
    4. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    5. Evidence of excellent organizational and human relations skills.
    6. Evidence of strong initiative and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
    7. Evidence of effective communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.


    Salary and Benefits:
    This position will be placed on an individual contract with regionally competitive salary and benefits.
