Director, Marketing (Interventional Urology - Men's Health)

The Director, Marketing will lead Coloplast's downstream brand and portfolio. The position will set the direction, drive gap analysis, and identify the product portfolio for the business globally within the Interventional Urology division of Coloplast. The position leads short-term & long-term strategic product portfolio responsibility for product lines for the global market. This position works closely with the Global Marketing team in Paris, France, the marketing, sales and sales management teams in NA, and across the organization to integrate the existing product portfolio, implement marketing plans, develop and deploy programs, establish contracts and pricing and manage specific projects in support of the product portfolio and the overall brand management. In addition, the role will support sales and marketing initiatives, product and campaign launches, through the design, development, coordination and/or implementation of ongoing training programs that include: sales skills, product knowledge, and clinical knowledge.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Manage direct reports to ensure they are performing to their job descriptions and developing professional acumen.
  • Manage all marketing and business aspects of defined products including: product launch, forecasting, budgeting, marketing plans, sales and customer training, product improvements, marketing literature, medical conventions/shows, and ongoing promotion campaigns.
  • Drive initiative on product evaluations, competitive conversions and new customer development, working closely with the sales team.
  • Drive and support revenue growth, pricing, and commercialization of Interventional Urology implantables business.
  • Lead the development and execution of new product launches globally to help promote new business opportunities, growth and financial profitability.
  • Identify growth opportunities, and create and implement marketing programs, targeting key customers to grow the global business.
  • Lead KOL development in the US and develop and leverage relationships with Global KOLs.
  • Develops and coordinates core content covering product knowledge, customer knowledge, key clinical data, as well as relevant selling environment information to ensure new hires are fully knowledgeable of all key focus areas for Coloplast.
  • Develop training curriculum for existing sales force to improve product knowledge, competitive selling skills.
  • Develop, and manage content & direction for Coloplast Men's Health, Women's Health and Endourology Field Sales Trainers (FST) Program.
  • Develops a "mentoring mentality" among the FSTs to help prepare them for management opportunities as appropriate.
  • Works/travels with field sales representatives in a training capacity with emphasis on new hires, FSTs.
  • Partner with marketing management to develop and execute high quality physician education programs designed to meet the varying needs of different physicians
  • Manage relationships with KOLs and Physician trainers, Advisors, and Speakers Bureau
  • Responsible for program budgets, tracking and demographic analysis for educational impact and measurements of adoption.
  • Works/travels with Regional Managers to collaborate develop and assess training, program development. and O.R. protocol needs.
  • Works with Regional Managers to develop a formal field ride/O.R. case coverage assessment tool.
  • Lead the execution of training programs including agenda development, program hosting and program management
  • Partner with Global partners in coordination of international physician training events that include US faculty
  • Provide market research, insight and direction to potential new product areas.
  • Interpret and translate scientific clinical data into commercial implications.
  • Develop short and long-range strategies for product expansions.
  • Develop or expand upon physician training certification and advanced surgical training centers.
  • Interface with product development, production and manufacturing to assess new product opportunities.
  • Refine pricing strategy through analysis of internal and external variables impacting brand profitability to meet market dynamics, and develop pricing recommendations for new products.
  • Align US portfolio to global Coloplast portfolio specifications.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop and rationalize products and services in line with customer needs and business requirements.
  • Conducts regular product portfolio analysis and make recommendations on strategic and tactical plans to align with shifts/trends in the market.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of the market by monitoring the competitive market, pricing, and reimbursement information, identifying trends or changes that will impact business, and recommending actions and contingency plans to maximize opportunities for Coloplast.
  • Manage marketing initiatives, including product catalogs, press releases, and advertising schedules, as well as coordinating and implementing industry tradeshows on an annual basis.
  • Drives the development of business strategies by capturing and mining market insight and translating it into actionable, differentiated programs.
  • Collaborate with North American Marketing and Sales Directors to align Marketing initiatives and sales compensation to meet sales objectives.
  • Manage the discretionary budget with P&L accountability to meet top- and bottom-line business objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Preferred medical device marketing and marketing management experience
  • Preferred Bachelors in area of business, science or applicable field of study
  • Preferred MBA with marketing or other relevant emphasis
  • Strong sales orientation and commercial marketing experience. Solid understanding of US and Canadian healthcare value chain
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions to prioritize and drive strategic objectives
  • Understanding of the nature of sales process in the US particularly in Endourology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate high degree of initiative and self motivation with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems with minimal direction and make decisions with confidence
  • Aptitude to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines
