Job Description
Position Overview:
Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company, is seeking a Line Manager to work closely with the Organizational and Competency Leads / Managers to hire, coach, develop and provide on-going 360 feedback to a cross-functional team of engineers.

Essential Functions:
  • Understand the Design Development Process and each individual person's role in the development of products
    • Work closely with the functional area Competency Lead / Manager to create an individual's Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations (RR&E) that meet the needs of the business, but are tailored to the individual's strengths
  • Drive the hiring, personnel development and performance management processes
    • Work closely with the Organizational Manager and Competency Lead(s) / Manager(s) to understand resource planning and hiring needs
    • Review and update RR&E's with the employees on a regular basis
    • Collect 360 feedback and provide coaching
    • Create or improve personnel training and development tools and processes
    • If needed, create and monitor employee performance improvement plans
  • Manage resource allocation on project teams
    • Assign individuals to project teams based on project needs and individual strengths
    • Resolve resource conflicts
  • Work with site management to improve overall organizational performance by participating in planning, implementation and monitoring of strategic initiatives

Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing engineering personnel OR Minimum 5 years' experience managing programs with cross-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience personnel development processes, tools and techniques
  • Track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching technical individuals in soft skills and emotional intelligence
  • Familiar with or able to learn Human Resources policies

Skills and Abilities:
  • High level of personal engagement and energy
  • Open and honest with a high level of integrity and credibility
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a positive manner
  • Capable of delivering encouragement as well as constructive criticism in a positive way
  • Drives ownership and accountability to the appropriate levels
  • Ability to present and/or coach in either a one-on-one or team setting
