We are seeking a Field Engineer for our Minneapolis District to work at various construction sites located in Minnesota, North Dakota, and a possibility of working in other states. We are looking to have this position start January or May of 2020.The Minneapolis District main office is located in Edina, MN .
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the PM, Superintendent, and other project staff
- Build relationships and communicate with owners, design partners, subcontractors, & workforce
- Review shop drawing, submittals and schedules, and process RFIs
- Assist with implementing and monitoring the quality control, safety and environment programs
- Assist with project layout
- Assist with all schedule preparations & updates, identify critical work items, and prepare long-lead items
- Assist with monthly billings, cashflow projections, and process change orders
- Assist with quantity reporting, project costing, and forecasting
- Manage document control including submittals schedules, contract documents, shop drawings, etc.
- Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials and equipment
- Resolve field problems and conflicts, liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce
- Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals
- Assist with project closeout
- Attend and/or lead meetings
- Other duties as appropriately assigned
- Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or other degrees related to the construction industry received on or before May 2020 . Or possess a Construction Management certification with two or more years of related experience.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and current industry related programs
- Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to future project locations when necessary (including locations outside of Minnesota)
- Selected candidate may be required to complete and pass a criminal background check
- Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test
Preferred:
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- AutoCADD, Revit, MicroStation, Bluebeam, & Primavera (P6) experience is preferred
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, SWPPP, LEED, DBIA or other industry related certifications are preferred
Working Conditions:
- This position will work at active construction jobsites and in an office environment
- Must be able to walk, stand, lift, climb, pull, and navigate through a construction site on a daily basis and work in an office environment
- Must be able to work around and near welding, cutting, grinding, heavy equipment, cranes, heat, dirt, dust, heights, vibrations, and confined space
