TKDA is currently seeking a Registered Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Division in St. Paul. Our preferred candidate will have 5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial HVAC, HVAC concepts and design, energy modeling and central chiller/boiler plant and piping design for commercial and industrial facilities. We service clients on both new and retro-fit projects.
This position will be responsible for preparing plans, specifications, design details and construction documents associated with commercial and industrial facilities. The candidate must have experience performing studies to compare and analyze systems to meet Clients' needs. Additionally, some project management activities including engineering fee estimates, schedule development, project oversight and client interaction will be required. Our candidate must work independently and also within a team environment; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate project organization and management skills. Previous field work and inspection experience is required.

Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations using formulas, formal training and experience.
Write technical studies, reports or opinions.
Design of mechanical systems; including the creation of process flow diagrams, piping & instrument diagrams, equipment general arrangements drawings, and piping plan drawings.
Work with project team on the coordination of new systems and equipment into new or existing facilities.
Work with designers to generate equipment general arrangement drawings, piping plan drawings and isometrics.
Work at project sites to coordinate design and communicate any design issues with team members.
Meet our client's expectations; direct the work as the firm's representatives at the job site.
Review and provide documentation on existing conditions and field inspections.
Assist with the local, state, and federal permitting jurisdictions.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
5+ years' experience in mechanical design and construction administration
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferably in Minnesota
Excellent communication skills, along with good organizational and project documentation skills
AutoCAD/Revit ME a plus
Preparation of design drawings, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
