Job Description

The Project Manager / Junior Electrical Engineer is an entry level position which will provide leadership for Power Generation projects from receipt of purchase through customer acceptance. This position's main function is to provide timely, cost effective management of multiple projects to meet customer expectations. As the candidates skills develop he/she will be exposed to automatic transfer switches and paralleling switchgear. They will organize, schedule, coordinate, purchase, communicate and lead others to execute projects.

Specific duties include:

  • Orders all necessary Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment and/or materials from suppliers, ensuring a timely release and delivery
  • Manages the start-up procedures and documentation with contractors, engineers, customers, owners, utility company, sales staff and service technicians
  • Provides assistance with existing electrical engineering and design
  • Coordinates the shop-buildup of engine generator as well as the delivery of equipment to job site
  • Monitors project costs and coordinates billing to initiate the invoicing process
  • Communicates with the lead sales engineer to facilitate the design of specific design / build projects, requiring the management of outside resources to bring projects in on time and within the budget constraints on the project
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering required; emphasis in power systems preferred

  • Electrical Power, Switchgear, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with project management is a plus
