JOB TITLE:  Telephone Sales Representative
 
Reports To:     Sales Manager                                                                         Non-Exempt

Summary:
Telephone sales position FT M-F 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.  Base wage $12.00 plus commission when call and sales quotas met.  Specific contiguous USA territory list provided.  Must be able to navigate a computer based contact management system, experience with spreadsheet and word programs.  Primarily outbound phone with minimal inboud phone, and email contacts to identify client’s needs and suggest product offerings and marketing strategies.  This position will also be responsible for providing hypothetical illustrations, custom proposals, and sales ideas to support sales efforts and marketing initiatives by performing the following duties. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Contacts current and potential customers to introduce products and/or follows-up on previous sales calls
 
Utilizes contact management software to effectively manage productivity, and track orders and contact history.
 
Maintains and grows existing customer base by identifying new product opportunities.
 
Contacts, over the telephone and/or email within an assigned territory(s) to sell and represent UpLine to customers.
 
Describes and demonstrates, over the telephone or via online tools, products, provides information and marketing materials, answers questions, and secures sales.
 
Markets  products and builds relationships with prospects in order to obtain new business.
 
Improves product knowledge and develops marketing/sales techniques by reading blogs, journals, attending training/seminars, etc.
 
Networks and represents the company at various trade shows and electronic meetings.
 
Acts as a professional and knowledgeable representative of the company.
 
Increases sales and profits of assigned territory(s), year over year, by generating additional sales to current customers and obtaining new business.
Works closely with management and makes suggestions to improve productivity and quality.
 
Identifies prospective customers.
 
Develops rate proposals and presents to prospects.
 
Identifies trends and competition in markets and advocates action to maximize opportunities and minimize risk.
 
Provides a positive customer service perception and reinforces a "Value Added" proposition to our customers.
 
Ensures strong customer retention levels through effective execution of sales and marketing plans, delivering service excellence, and ensuring prompt and effective service recovery.
 
Maintains and updates customer files in computer program including notes on all customer interaction.  Ensures all necessary contract paperwork is complete and submitted timely.
 
Develops and increases end user customer base by effective communication, assessment of needs, and recommendation of solutions.
 
Performs onsite/offsite product demonstrations.
 
Provides back-up coverage at company location during vacations and shortages.
 
Develops long-term supply relationships through contracts and/or agreements.
 
Provides customer follow-up.
 
Works as part of a team in providing customer solutions.
 
Compiles list of prospective customers for sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, trade journals, and other sources.
 
Maintains accurate and timely submission of sales call reports and expenses.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
