Job Description
Project Manager – Transit
Sambatek, Inc.
 
Sambatek is looking for a Project Manager to join our growing Transit Project Team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing project teams, Project Stakeholders, General Engineering Consultants (GEC), Architectural and Engineering consultants, and contractors as necessary for projects that enhance and expand rail and bus transit systems . Additional experience with transportation and land development a plus. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to travel and even possibly relocate for the duration of some transit projects.

The successful candidate will have experience on various transit project types such as BRT, Facilities, Park and Rides, Light Rail Transit, High Speed Rail, street car.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct project activities of assigned staff
  • Monitor and review proposal documents for compliance with overall company objectives
  • Develop and implement project delivery plans
  • Prepare project status reports for updates to Transportation Group Lead
  • Implement corrective actions on projects which are not in adherence to budgets and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with project QA/QC plans and requirements
  • Review project submittals and other deliverables for adherence to regulatory and client specific requirements
  • Monitor potential client project plans and proposed budgets for opportunities to pursue new work
  • Review resumes and participate in interviews for potential new employees
  • Develop training plans for the development of existing staff members
  • Manage project design, preparation of contract documents, equipment, and subcontractor’s activities necessary to deliver transit projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
  • BS in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of transit projects.
  • PE in Minnesota or ability to obtain with reciprocity.
  • Comprehensive experience in the preparation, budgeting, negotiation, and administration of contracts with both public and private organizations.
  • Experience preparing scope statements, estimates, and forecasts.
  • Experience using professional scheduling software and Microsoft Office products.
  • Willing to travel and relocate for projects
