Job Description
At St. David’s Center, our mission is to build relationships that nurture the development of every child and family.  Based in the Twin Cities West Metro, we serve more than 2,500 children, adults and families each year. 
 
St. David’s Center’s Autism Day Treatment  program is expanding to offer a community-based program model specifically serving Somali/East African children & families.  As a part of this programs mission, St. David’s Center will be responding to unique challenges within this community in addressing and treating autism spectrum disorder. 

We are currently looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to work in our CBADT program. This position offers:

The Mental Health Practitioner-Treatment Room oversees the daily operations for the CBADT program and serves as the primary Practitioner assigned to develop and carry out interventions.   The Practitioner will also have the responsibility for ensuring a culturally informed treatment setting that is highly sensitive and responsive to the Somali/East African families and their needs. The position requires a high level of abstract thinking to articulate and put into practice a program vision.  It requires the ability to independently make and act upon decisions, provide dynamic & flexible classroom services, supervise interns and support staff and build a positive team atmosphere.  
 
This position reports to a mental health professional for clinical supervision of therapeutic activity and for administrative detail.  
 
Hours are Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional evenings. 
 
Qualifications:
  • Must have experience, knowledge and language skills with Somali/East African Culture
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in mental health profession, prefer experience/knowledge of early childhood and children with special needs or Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Must meet the qualifications as a Mental Health Practitioner as required by Medicaid(Chapter 16 of provider manual under Provider Requirements and Mental Health Practitioners)
