General Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Operations Manager, our Field Associate position will train in our server and kitchen positions. Individuals may also train in host and moderator positions after mastering these initial roles. Each role has specific responsibilities during a study but the primary goal is working together as a team for the overall successful completion of the assigned study. Successful studies are those that are defect-free, are completed on time with successful data delivery, and, when possible, exceed clients’ expectations.

All roles require the following skills:
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Critical thinking and ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with both the public and Food Perspectives clients
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate the computer easily (particularly Internet, Microsoft Office and Outlook programs and systems)
  • Pride in self by maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Flexibility in regard to scheduling including long hours and the ability to travel to multiple test sites throughout the Twin Cities area
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Field Associate position will train in our server and kitchen positions. Individuals may also train in host and moderator positions after mastering these initial roles.   1. Server
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the server position is the first position in the training rotation for the field staff team. The server’s key role is to correctly follow the serve rotation schedule to ensure all products are served to the correct respondents in the correct order, at the correct temperature. The server must coordinate with kitchen and moderator to ensure product quality and consistency. The server is responsible for quality checks on multiple levels for accuracy and must continually communicate with other field team members and clients to ensure successful study execution. The specific accountabilities assigned to this position are numerous and varied but especially include attention to detail, critical thinking, Interpersonal skills communicating with respondents and clients, basic computer skills and the ability to think on your feet.
 
  1. Kitchen
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the kitchen’s key role is to prepare food products for testing, follow detailed preparation procedures and ensure no variability is introduced throughout the study. Kitchen staff will interact with clients on site and represent Food Perspectives with a positive and professional attitude and may be required to be part of the client care team, providing clients with concierge service as needed. The kitchen staff is responsible for following the serve rotation schedule, ensuring all products are served to respondents in the correct order as well as the correct temperature. The kitchen staff will ensure quality checks on multiple levels for accuracy and must continually communicate with other field team members and clients to ensure successful study execution. The specific accountabilities assigned to this position are numerous and varied but especially include attention to detail, ability to follow instructions on products, understanding of kitchen procedures and equipment, ability to think on your feet interpersonal and client interaction skills, culinary skills and serve safe certification (training provided).

 
  1. Moderator
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the moderator’s key role is to communicate study directions to respondents, quality check throughout the study and continually communicate with other field team members and clients to ensure successful study execution. The moderator must display leadership skills and using a detailed script, the moderator must have the ability to control the testing room, speak clearly and project their voice throughout the room to guide respondents through the study. The moderator will also assist with checks after they have completed their duties getting the room ready for the test. The moderator will represent Food Perspectives with a positive and professional attitude and may be required to be part of the client care team, providing clients with concierge service as needed. Other accountabilities assigned to this position are numerous and varied but especially include computer skills, speaking, communication, leadership and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
 
  1. Host
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the host’s key role is to coordinate the respondent check in process, ensure respondent qualifications for each individual study and pay respondents after completion of a study. The host will be the first Food Perspectives staff to interact with the respondents as well as clients and key to representing Food Perspectives by providing a positive and professional attitude and may be required to be part of the client care team, providing clients with concierge service as needed. The host must continually communicate with other field team members and clients to balance study quotas and sessions ensuring successful study execution. The host will use a computerized check in and logging system to monitor study parameters and enter all detailed test information for Food Perspectives records. The specific accountabilities assigned to this position are numerous and varied but especially include interpersonal skills, attention to detail, computer knowledge, leadership skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently with excellent communication skills.

Education and Experience
Minimum of high school diploma or a GED equivalent certificate from a certified institution; one to two years of related experience and/or training and Safe Serve certified preferred.
