PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of the ARMHS Treatment Director is to work with and under the supervision of the ARMHS Lead Treatment Director and to provide supervision to the mental health practitioners delivering rehabilitative services to clients in-home and/or in the community with a mental illness, in the form of instruction, support, and skills training for the purpose of promoting basic living and social skills, community intervention, and transitioning to community living.

ARMHS Program Management
Ensure the ARMHS program operates with efficiency, sustainability and profitability while aligning with organizational goals and licensing requirements. Function as a member of the ARMHS supervisory team to develop programmatic goals, quality control procedures, and a program budget. Continually seeking new referral sources to increase services offered to potential clients. Maintain general knowledge of third party insurance coverage and benefits by having a working understanding of medical billing. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring the program budget is monitored and forecasting future budgets based upon projected growth.
Monitoring and maintaining quality of service when working with clients and supervising staff.
Ensuring the program is operating to maximum capacity and coordinating an action plan for a lack of referrals or clients.
Maintaining a positive public image while educating the public on “the Options way” and marketing program services to other organizations and/or referral sources.
Completing bi-weekly payroll calculations based upon mental health practitioners Procentive calendars.
Working in collaboration with Human Resources to manage worker’s compensation and unemployment expenses when appropriate.
Maintaining accurate and current billing information on each client, and communicating changes with the billing office when appropriate.
ARMHS Staff Supervision & Management
Hire the highest quality of staff who support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Manage performance and provide coaching to staff through case consultations and enforcement of agency guidelines, policies and procedures. Provide direction and support to the ARMHS mental health practitioners by conducting field observations. Review progress notes of onsite visits to ensure they are accurate and consistent with the purpose of the visit and goals of the treatment plan. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Enforcing and communicating agency guidelines, procedures and “the Options way” to staff.
Overseeing records of observations, charting evaluations, and actions that correct the work of the mental health practitioners.
Approving and signing the field records of observations.
Ensuring that mental health practitioners can communicate effectively with clients, their significant others, and other providers.
Determining that treatment is implemented correctly, overseeing changes in treatment strategies and revisions in treatment plans, and conveying instructions and methods of treatment as appropriate.
Preparing detailed written reports and state mandated paperwork by the stated deadlines.
Ensuring accurate progress notes are completed in a timely manner on individual, family and group skills for each billable unit.
Monitoring and providing ongoing feedback on staff performance, completing performance reviews and applying merit increases where appropriate.
Consult with Human Resources on employee relations and performance management issues.
Mental Health Rehabilitative Services
Provide rehabilitative and skills-focused services to enable clients in basic living and social skills, community intervention, and transitioning to community living. Model services practices that demonstrate respect for the client, and promote collaboration and coordination. Maintain ongoing, updated client files to include updated treatment plans on a quarterly basis. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Determining whether a potential client is eligible for ARMHS services.
Analyzing all assessment information to establish rehabilitative treatment priorities and to develop an individual rehabilitation service plan.
Establishing personal recovery goals, rehabilitative goals, and objectives with each client.
Updating individual rehabilitation service plans and reviewing client files at least every six months after the start of service.
Developing therapeutic relationships, teaching skills and supporting clients as they practice skills.
Strategizing ways to reduce barriers to integration in the community, independent living, or securing community living when client’s symptoms of mental illness are unmanageable.
Preparing individualized documented client histories for each Diagnostic Assessment.
Coordinating services with county case managers, families/guardians of clients, work personnel, and medical personnel as appropriate.
Utilizing Illness Management and Recovery as defined by Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS).
Maintaining professional and respectful boundaries with staff, clients and client’s individual community and property.
Referring clients to other professionals as needed with supervisor approval.
Communicating with other providers that may be involved with a particular case.
ARMHS Consultation
Receive documented supervision once a month from the clinical supervisor also known as the program director. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Identifying and planning for the general needs of clients served.
Addressing the needs and effectiveness of the program.
Addressing personnel issues and needs, including training.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Completes all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Behavioral Science or related field, licensure as a mental health practitioner, experience working as a mental health practitioner and two years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a valid driver’s license, dependable vehicle and proof of auto insurance as the employee will be required to drive their own vehicle to perform the essential functions of the position in various locations throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must be able to fully participate in nonviolent physical control procedures as needed. The candidate must be able to move frequently and attend various functions within the community. Mobility includes the ability to stand, walk short distances and sit for short periods of time. Limited lifting required.
