The successful candidate will have the ability to perform root-cause analysis and analytical problem solving. Troubleshooting knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems necessary to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, move, machine tools. Fabricate parts as needed for machines, equipment, building or grounds, etc. as assigned. Have knowledge and skills of various trades. Perform any other related duties as assigned.
 
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Must have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns. To find the root cause and repair problems on a large variety of grinding equipment including CNC machines.
•  Must have an understanding and demonstrate experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their components.
•  Must have the ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical prints diagrams and technical repair manuals.
•  Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance work.
•  Knowledge in the general repair of building equipment, and experience in repairing HVAC equipment.
•  Must have own tools and the skill in the use and care of those tools.
•  Ability to operate, install and repair machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
•  Ability to operate machine tools to make or repair machine parts per close tolerance prints.
•  Ability to make steel fabrications utilizing measuring, cutting, bending, and welding techniques.
•  Ability to record maintenance activities and part inventory using computerized maintenance software.
•  Perform unexpected maintenance, which might arise
•  Conduct basic maintenance of forklifts.
•  Ability to safely operate personnel lifts and material handling equipment.
•  Ability to safely rig, lift and relocate a variety of complex, heavy machines, equipment and components.
•  Perform assigned duties with little or no supervision or instruction.
 
Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:
2 years or equivalent Maintenance Mechanic experience.
