Founded in 2008 with the merger of two long-time solutions technology companies, Genus Technologies offers over 25 years of expertise related to creating, capturing, managing and sharing content of all kinds. Our customers rely on us for a wide range of capabilities, from capturing and managing data from digital or printed content to automating forms processing, to unifying the management of enterprise content including documents, images, audio and video.

Our History

Genus Technologies resulted from the merger between two well established and highly respected firms – MBS Technologies (founded 1983) and Lowry Technologies (founded 1999).

MBS Technologies brought specific IBM expertise to the merger with a 25-year history as an IBM partner company. In fact, in 1987 IBM contracted MBS Technologies to design and write a computer document imaging system for Citibank, in South Dakota, that would become the basis for the world’s first production level document imaging system, ImagePlus (later rebranded as a version of IBM Content Manager). This experience forms the basis for Genus’ recognition today as one of few IBM Premier Business Partners, the highest of all IBM partner designations.

The company’s long-standing partnership and expertise with Kofax started in 1996 and forms the basis for Genus’ recognition today as a Kofax Diamond solutions provider, the highest designation in the Lexmark/Kofax partner system, and one of only a select number of partners worldwide that has earned that designation. With over 20 years of content capture expertise using Kofax solutions, we offer a level of content capture and digital asset management expertise matched by few.

Lowry Technologies, on the other hand, brought to the merger vast experience in helping hundreds of customers navigate and manage complex corporate content, including forms, manuals, product and marketing information, online content and other digital assets.
