Wenger Corporation is seeking a Metal Machine Operator responsible to set up and operate metal fabrication equipment while working under limited supervision within assigned areas in a manner, which meets or exceeds established quality and quantity standards.

 

This job might be for you if you have:

  • Six (6) months experience operating metal forming equipment or direct Wenger Corporation experience
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Experience with tape measures, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Reading text and documents, numeracy, writing and oral communications within team environment
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, planning, prioritizing and organizing
  • Ability to operate hand tools
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Light to moderate lifting

 

Highly qualified candidates may also possess:

  • Vocational/technical school training

 

As a Metal Machine Operator, a typical day might include:

  • Set up, adjustment, and operation of a variety of metal fabrication equipment including, but not limited to press brake, punch presses, tube benders, saws, and wire forming machines
  • Following engineering drawings and blueprints to perform the work
  • Achievement of high standards regarding quality of parts
  • Determining the materials required and following the sequence of tasks outlined on production orders
  • Ability to complete a thorough inspection of parts
  • Maintaining equipment, as well as an to be clean and safe work environment
