Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Emergency Department Tech II (EDT-II) functions as an assistant to the Emergency Department Medical Providers and the ED registered nurse (RN) in the completion of specific patient care tasks involving neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; plus one of the following:
      • Successful completion of an accredited Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) program, or
      • Successful completion of a National Registry approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course (basic or Intermediate/Advanced level), or
      • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, and completed 160 hours clinical experience acquired through an externship or working as a medical assistant.
    • License/Certifications: Team member must complete and maintain health care provider CPR certification (BCLS). Training or certification in phlebotomy and performing EKGs is highly desirable.
    • Experience: Computer experience is required with proficiency in data entry.
