Carley Foundry, Inc. is a manufacturer of premium quality castings located in Blaine, Minnesota. We are proudly making products in America and are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team!
Requirements: This position requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of one-year cost accounting experience. Experience with manufacturing accounting in a standard costing environment preferred. The primary objectives of this position are to provide management with the tools they need to understand production costs costs, efficiencies, deficiencies, and help make recommendations to maximize profitability.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Job duties include but not limited to:
Coordinate semi-annual physical inventory
Review and close completed jobs
Run manufactured variances
Analyze job close variances and make recommendations to management on how to reduce variances
Review standard costs on purchased and manufactured parts
Prepare standard cost rolls
Review outside service operations for accuracy
Prepare profitability reports
Calculate overhead, quote, and process rates
Coordinate inventory cycle counts
Issue materials to jobs and verify accuracy
Maintain work centers and processes in our ERP system
Calculate scrap percentages on materials
Complete month-end close reconciliations for inventory accounts in a timely manner
Monitor indirect labor costs
Calculate monthly inventory and WIP reserves
Allocate expenses to cost centers
Assist with year-end audit preparation
Prepare manual journal entries
Maintain various Excel spreadsheets
Various duties as assigned
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Understand job costing in a standard cost environment
Experience using ERP software
Excellent communication skills
Advanced Excel skills
Strong understanding of the general ledger
Strong problem solving abilities
Reliable and ability to meet deadlines

Proficient with Microsoft programs
