Civil Engineer II - Water Resources

The Opportunity

Sambatek is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with a team to execute water resources design for transportation and land development projects. As a project engineer, this individual will be responsible for the design and the implementation of hydraulic/hydrologic design, as well as developing and enforcing design best management practices.

Work Location: Hybrid to Minnetonka, MN office

The qualified candidate will:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Minnesota PE in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (or ability to attain within 6 months)
  • Proficient in basic elements of hydraulics design and hydrology, preferably with some advanced design experience
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation and GEOPAK
  • Proficient ability using OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience with hydrologic & hydraulic modeling (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM, GEOPAK Drainage)
  • Experience in FEMA floodplain and flood risk analysis, modeling, and reports
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
