Job Description

Position: Head of Procurement, Americas

Reporting to: SVP, Operations, Americas

The Head of Procurement for the Americas will lead regional procurement teams and strategy to create a strong team of procurement professionals dedicated to establishing best practice for our Nilfisk Americas supply base. This function will build strong, regional partners with sourcing partners to enable successful growth to deliver solutions for our customers.

In this role, the Head of Procurement will develop a safe, sustainable, resilient and scalable organization in order to meet current and future demands. This leader will work is close collaboration with Regional Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Planning, and other partnering functions.

Strategic responsibilities:

  • Develop regional tactical procurement team composed by skilled and competent professionals. With team members responsible to create regional supply base development plans, align with stakeholders and execute them with other business functions.
  • Identify critical supplier capacity shortages, analyze root causes propose resolutions and follow up problem solving.
  • Co-develop and implement Category Strategies with the Category teams
  • Ensure professional relationship and true partnership with suppliers based on clear expectations, deliverables and business perspectives
  • Drive regional VMI programs with Nilfisk Production Companies to optimize inventories and improve material availability
  • Step up as owner and ultimate responsible for inbound supply chains, liaise Operative Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing for an enhanced performance
  • Proactively identify green initiatives, develop business cases and execute/support CSR projects

Lead the organization by example, including, but not limited to:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Strong competency and commitment to building a trusting team relationship
  • Strong commercial competency and customer focus
  • Experience building in Global and Regional Sourcing and Procurement Strategies
  • Experience managing sourcing and procurement functions to build for scale
  • 8+ years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain functions with increasing levels of scope of responsibility.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset and a data driven, KPI management approach.
