SUMMARY
The Director of Finance and Accounting will oversee key financial processes including forecasting, budget planning, performance reporting, business strategic analysis and others. This role will have a significant impact on the success of the organization, serving as a financial advisor, strategic planner, guiding processes, creating efficiencies, and ensuring the financial health and stability of the company. This position leads a finance team and will develop and mentor team members. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a critical and analytical thinker, strong communicator, and someone who can make a visible impact on a rapidly growing organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role will lead and manage the Accounting Team, including overseeing day to day activities, development and growth, and performance management
Essential Responsibilities for this role
- Own all aspects of Finance operations, including:
- Regular financial reporting (e.g., preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements), 12 month rolling forecast, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, and procurement
- Timely and accurately provide reporting of financial information to internal parties, government regulators and outside agencies
- Audit and improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross team processes
- Partner with the VP and other executive team members to support corporate finance activities, including M&A activities
- Manage and supervise all AR/AP cycles with external partners and customers - including the implementation of accounting and billing systems and controls
- Partner with HR on internal equity administration and planning
- Keep careful tabs on regular transactions, investments and any business deals that affect the bottom line
- Manage regular audits of expenditures, assets, and liabilities to achieve budget objectives
- Monitor transactions
- Manage and direct monthly, quarterly and year end close process
- Prepare periodic financial reports and provide supporting analysis
- Manage pricing and support customer quoting process
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Develop and maintain an effective and efficient set of internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Prepare and manage budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending and carrying out action plans
- Prepare ad-hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Manage the preparation of tax returns, qualified benefit plan reports and other government filings
- Review customer agreements and other customer related documentation, such as customer purchase orders, renewal documentation and contract amendments to identify the appropriate revenue recognition and assumptions of risk
- Monitor and maintain the company's cash position
- Take ultimate responsibility for cash and working capital management
- Develop key performance metrics & regularly solicit feedback from stakeholders as to the effectiveness of both individual staff performance and the performance of the department as a whole
- Keep abreast of changes in reporting requirements and the effect the changes will have on the company
- Leverage best practices and technology to optimize related processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience
- Demonstrated functional knowledge of multiple financial accounting competencies including AR, AP, PR, GL, fixed assets, cost accounting, financial reporting, treasury management and internal/external reporting including compliance with IFRS, GAAP, FASB and/or accounting standards and pronouncements
- High integrity and sensitivity to confidential information
- Ability to work effectively across all functions of the organization
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Exceptional analysis skills using Excel
- Advanced level PC based skills - MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook required and need the ability to build/understand complex financial models in Excel and Hyperion
- Strong strategic and proactive thinking
- Combination of hands on and vision of future capability
- Proven mentor and team developer
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior stakeholder satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- Certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position
- Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, but does allow for some flexibility
- It may be necessary to work more than 40 hours per week at times to produce the required results
