JOB SUMMARY

As an Assistant Accounting Manager, you will apply principals of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information through our internal system and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. In this role, you will be required to make decisions that are in the best interest of the firm. As an assistant accounting manager, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions
  • Assist in managing the accounting team.
  • Oversee, Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and account control procedures
  • Supervise client requirements, directives and onboarding.
  • Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems
  • Maintain updated backup assignments and coverage
  • Lead the payment processing team to achieve necessary results
  • Supervise payment processing teams' schedules and workload
  • Address employee concerns and disciplinary actions
  • Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits
  • Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff
  • Prepare, analyze, review, and send required client reports
  • Maintain client accounts by verifying proper funds have been pushed and pulls
  • Monitor accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare, log, and review bank account credits and debits
  • Research, review, and apply all incoming checks promptly and accurately
  • Reconcile each trust account prior to closing the different days
  • Inform management of any issues, developments, updates, discrepancies, questions, etc.
  • Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or closely related field preferred, not required.
  • 1 to 3 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Have a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work with high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
  • CLS experience is a plus
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening, credit check, and background check
