Job Summary:

The Director, Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the strategic plan for minimizing cost of goods sold for both material and labor. This role is responsible for building relationships with key manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and labor partners to ensure EMC is receiving the best value when purchasing goods and services. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the timely ordering and delivery of materials and labor to customer sites as well as minimizing and managing inventory.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee strategic development and execution of Labor Partner program including the expansion of coverage nationwide.
  • Direct and implement sourcing and supply chain strategies that directly link to accomplishment of both top and bottom-line corporate objectives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies.
  • Develop long term sourcing strategies that fit business requirements.
  • Lead efforts to improve supply chain efficiency, maintain product quality standards, and reduce costs.
  • Develop strategies and best practices to ensure materials are on-time and accurate.
  • Work with service providers to minimize inventory levels.
  • Develop metrics for managing procurement costs, delivery times, service levels, and quality.
  • Supervise and direct the work of strategic sourcing and supply chain management and teams.
  • Negotiate contracts including terms and conditions with vendors for the purchase and delivery of goods and/or services.
  • Meet with suppliers to hold them accountable to performance metrics and provide performance feedback.
  • Establish strategic partnership with key supplier base and labor partners.
  • Maintain and update quality and operating procedures related to purchasing and installer/supplier maintenance and control.
  • Negotiate and buy labor at best value for installation at customer sites.
  • Work closely with Project Excellence team to assign labor to customer projects.
  • Supervise the tracking and managing of licensing internally and with external labor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field


Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement or supply chain management.
  • Financial knowledge
  • Management and team leadership experience.


Experience Preferred/Other Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Lighting industry experience.


Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
  • Up to 25% travel.
