We are looking to add an experienced Commercial Real Estate Accountant based out of Fifth Street Towers in Downtown Minneapolis. This will be a full-time position working at the management office on-site.
The Commercial Real Estate Accountant will report directly to the Vice President. This position shall be responsible for the financial reporting and aiding in the building management of Fifth Street Towers and its property management team.

FINANCIAL REPORTING & ACCOUNTING
* Responsible for full financial reporting process, preparation, and final package
* Understanding of accrual accounting and review w/ Corporate Accountant
* Review invoices for coding and verification, and manage A/P process workflow
* Interpret commercial lease documents / amendments to abstract and identify key pieces of information (charge schedule, encumbrances, rights, recoveries, etc)
* Review of monthly commercial billing & work order charge batches
* Check daily deposits and record tenant receipts for accurate cash balances
* Promote for tenants to register and utilize CommercialCafe for e-receipts
* Work with Tenant Services to prepare monthly work order charge batches
* Review rent variances and tenant charge schedules for accuracy, in order to post monthly commercial billing and send out tenant statements
* Create manual charges, as needed, to correct tenant's ledgers for past billing
* Create manual bill backs for utility meter readings, tax bill reimbursement, etc
* Prepare aged A/R reports for PM/AM review; help research & reconcile outstanding A/R
* Update monthly reports including A/R, stacking plan, vacancy summary, rent roll, executive summary, etc
* Prepare year-end recovery schedules for the property and associated tenant reconciliations for CAM/RET recoveries through Kardin
* Assist in year-end preparation (budgeting, reforecasting, Tenant reconciliation)

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
(or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience)
2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial real estate
3. Real Estate License (or intent to work toward licensing)
