Cornerstone is a $5.5 million organization that provides comprehensive services for individuals and families in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking or general crime. Development and Event Intern

Cornerstone will be celebrating its 40th year serving families in our community. We are planning a full agenda of activities throughout 2022 and 2023 to honor our history and lay the foundation for building hopeful futures. We are seeking an intern to assist us in creating excitement and financial support around our 40th year. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking experience in nonprofit development, communications and event planning at an organization that serves victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and general crime.

Job Duties:

Assist Cornerstone's development staff with planning and day-of logistics for 40th anniversary fundraising events

Assist with 40th anniversary-related communications, including drafting blog and social media posts and newsletter articles

Help carry out event-related clerical functions including database entry and mailings

Assist with sponsor and vendor relationship management

Seek creative outreach opportunities with local civic, government and nonprofit partners with direction from Cornerstone's development staff

Capture and edit photos and videos of Cornerstone's 40th anniversary activities for social channels

Represent Cornerstone in a professional manner to external/internal constituents, professional colleagues, board members, etc.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

Proficient in Word and Excel. Thorough and detail oriented.Superior customer service.Ability to take initiative and willingness to work independently.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Interest in and willingness to learn about Cornerstone, our history and the issues of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and general crime. Able to pass a background check.

Hours:

Approximately 10 hours per week, with potential for more hours as needed. Hours are flexible with weekly check ins with internship supervisor. Hybrid opportunity with the option to work from Cornerstone's office in Bloomington. Cornerstone will celebrate our 40th anniversary September 2022 to September 2023; this is semester-long internship, beginning in September 2022 and ending in December 2022 with the option to extend into 2023.
