Position Summary
Reporting to the VP, Business Development, the Manager of Integration is primarily responsible for leading/supporting all aspects of integration and separation efforts for current and future acquisitions and divestitures respectively, as well as other project management roles related to internal integration efforts and restructuring activities. The incumbent will provide guidance and process to identify and develop long-range integration strategies for the enterprise. This includes but is not limited to refining internal development of Integration Playbooks, pre-deal synergy and cost estimates, Day 1 and beyond integration activity leadership, and risk analysis around divestiture considerations. The incumbent will often lead broad, multi-functional matrixed senior teams that are assembled to work on specific projects, as well as manage third party advisors and present to the Apogee Board.
Responsibilities
Refine Integration Playbooks and Tools. Support the development and refinement of standardized playbooks, checklists, and best practices for broader enterprise use on future projects.
Builds and delivers a structured, focused integration strategy, process, project set-up and detailed execution plan, including key milestones and timelines. Adapts and recalibrates plans as the situation evolves. Outlines a clear roadmap and transition plan for handover and ongoing ownership within the respective business.
Works with and manages third party consultants to ensure best practices and lessons learned are incorporated in Apogee playbooks
Take responsibility in coordination with the VP of Business Development for the operational and strategic direction of integration management, ensuring people engagement and proper training on Corporate Integration Process
Support communications to establish proactive, timely, open and collaborative, with a "one team" headset process
Builds positive relationships and aligns with key partners and business leaders, mobilizing vital cross-functional teams and providing clear direction and oversight for accountabilities and assignments
Support evaluation activities of pipeline acquisition and divestiture opportunities.
Work with the Business Development Leader and business deal sponsors to evaluate potential estimated synergies, costs, and risks for potential acquisitions
Provide detailed separation analysis around potential divestments through cross functional engagement and knowledge of Apogee's operating model and structure
Lead development of potential integration end state as part of investment thesis
Identify potential transition services needed
Lead effective execution of acquisition and divestiture processes. Lead and coordinate integration activities from deal origination to post-close integration.
Develop a deep understanding of a transaction's investment thesis to ensure integration plans support that operating model
Develop and drive the agenda for integration matters, which includes coordinating business units, functional teams, and formulating recommendations for senior management and the Board
Lead identification and quantification of potential synergies and integration costs as part of deal evaluation and future execution
Oversee the integration risk management process, identifying these risks and issues that need to be escalated to senior management and/or the Board during due diligence process through integration execution
Actively follow up on issues/risks/actions, escalating where necessary
Support monthly ESC (Exec Steering Committee) meetings, including developing a supporting deck with functional area updates combined with synergy performance tracking KPI's
Drive successful execution against plan by tracking milestones, making key recommendations to stakeholders, and holding cross functional team accountable for execution of deliverables
Provide relevant and timely stakeholder communications to all levels of management (formal and informal reporting) on the status and progress of the integration plans, costs and benefits
Ensure successful handoff to business team after post-closing activities are completed
Effective leadership and execution of transition services agreement and/or other related ancillary agreements as point of contact with a buyer
Lead and support other Business Development and Enterprise Initiatives.
Support Business Development Leader, which could include presentation preparation, financial modeling, and/or other related tasks with a quantitative aspect
Support Transformation Management Office (TMO) as need arises and during periods without acquisition or divestiture significant execution activities
Manage special projects such as IT EPR integration projects, internal combinations of business units, and other project related needs
Manage the development and ongoing preparation of assorted presentation decks (senior leadership presentations, board material, forecast alignment meetings, operational planning meetings, sales & ops planning, etc.)

Requirements
Education:
Undergraduate degree
Education and/or related training in Finance or other business curriculum (preferred)
MBA (preferred)
Experience:
5 to 10 years of project management, consulting, or similar capacity
IT and/or ERP related project leadership experience (preferred)
Direct M&A integration transaction execution experience (preferred)
Construction-related industry experience (preferred)
