Assistant Media Buyer

Media Bridge Advertising is an agency in Minneapolis, MN that combines media buying and creative services to help clients of all sizes grow and win. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Media Buyer to assist our team by sending traffic instructions to radio/TV stations, reconciling invoices to ensure buys ran as purchased, and comparing actual buys to original media plans. This is an entry-level administrative support position that is critically important to the accuracy of our clients' campaigns and the transparency we promise partners.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING AS AN ASSISTANT MEDIA BUYER

  • Use buying software (Strata) to compare what was purchased to what actually ran. Negotiate makegoods with radio station reps. This is a time sensitive process that requires high attention to detail.
  • Perform data entry on client facing spreadsheets to transparently communicate our media plan.
  • Send requests for proposals to various media partners.
  • Connect with print reps to collect e-tear sheets. Compare what was purchased to what actually ran. File correct e-tear sheets electronically and communicate incorrect e-tear sheets to our internal Buyers.
  • Send electronic traffic instructions to radio and TV via Strata.
  • Perform invoice reconciliation and communicate discrepancies to the various external reps we work with.
  • On a quarterly basis, post TV buys to ensure that the buy reached the promised number of impressions. This involves extracting data from our internal accounting system to see what was purchased on a per client basis and then communicating discrepancies to station reps over email and/or phone. Use Strata to add impressions to existing or new TV schedule.

IDEAL BACKGROUND

  • Do you have a Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or a related field? We prefer that, but will also consider 3+ years of highly relevant industry experience as substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Do you have at least one year of experience in the Media industry? Internship experience counts!
  • Do you not only survive, but thrive on aggressive deadlines and independent work?
  • Are you driven to do the right thing and willing to negotiate with external reps on behalf of our clients?
  • Are you known as a numbers person who likes to drive into the tiniest of details?
  • You don't have to be an IT expert, but proficiency with MS Office, project management tools (we use ASANA), and Google Workspace is expected - as are highly developed organization and time management skills.
