Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Digital Phenotyping Lead, are to:

  • Lead a team of six to nine direct reports with responsibility for directing their technical skills and personal development. Develop one new technical lead within the team that will have three direct reports;
  • Direct cross-collaborative teams across the organization to deliver sensing pipelines including but not limited to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), satellite and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV)technologies that serve breeding but are extendable to all other users in the organization
  • Deliver high-resolution and low-resolution imaging analytics in collaboration with our partners across Crop Science. This includes sensor scientists, image analysists, computer vision scientists, remote sensing scientists. The goal of this role is to provide the next generation and next level of resolution for our phenomic data;
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and business owners to drive and develop the strategy that pushes the limits of what is available or has been created today in the space of digital phenotyping;
  • Partner with teams across the enterprise to deploy models to production, including production ready code, data I/O, stakeholder engagement and training, long term plans for support and monitoring sustainable performance;
  • Provide thought leadership within APD analytics leadership including but not limited to best hiring practices, data science career architecture, external data science collaborations, data science branding and visibility, data science best practices;
  • Manage an annual budget of 2-3 Million dollars.

Required qualifications:

  • PhD degree (6+ years of related experience) or Master's degree with 10+ years of related experience with degree being in computerscience, image analytics, computer vision or a similar degree;
  • 2+ years experience leading data / imaging scientists;
  • Ability to work closely with diverse teams with varying priorities to coordinate work flow and drive it to its conclusion;
  • Strong background in managing people and projects while influencing multidisciplinary teams;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with industry scale breeding programs is a plus

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $150,000.00 (or between $134,000.00 to $184,000.00). Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
