We are seeking a finance professional with prior experience as a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst who is passionate about analyzing business results and uncovering drivers of past and potential future performance.

Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

This Manager-level client facing position will serve Growth Operators' clients in a support role, with direction provided by a Partner, Managing Director, or Director from the Growth Operators team. Services are provided in the form of business support (specific projects) and outsourced services (interim or fractional roles with clients). Work performed on client engagements may include the following:

  • Builds complex financial models for forecasting and measuring financial performance
  • Builds financial reporting packages using various software packages for clients
  • Assembles and summarizes data to structure reports on financial status and risks
  • Assists with improving the client's budgeting, planning, forecasting, analytics, and reporting capabilities
  • Reviews past and current financial performance against budgeted estimates and develops models that assist management in understanding the financial impact of business decisions
  • Assists in pulling, joining, and consolidating data from multiple client systems
  • Assists in developing and maintaining client master data information (Chart of accounts, location hierarchies, etc.)

Required Qualifications and Core Competences

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ years of finance experience
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Strong systems aptitude
  • Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Possess a positive and energetic self-starter attitude, with excellent drive, ambition, and work ethic
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
  • Experience with planning & analytics software (Essbase, SAP BPC, Workday Adaptive Planning, Board, Anaplan, Cube Software, etc.)
  • Experience with visualization data platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, Sisense, etc.)
  • Reside in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position with some flexibility on work schedule and location.
  • The work is performed remotely from home, at the Growth Operators downtown Minneapolis office, and on-site at client locations.

Work Environment/Travel

  • This role is performed in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day; some out-of-town and overnight travel is expected.
