Yellow Tree Construction Services is currently looking for a Punch Carpenter. Yellow Tree is a full service Real Estate company focused on multifamily urban in-fill developments in Minneapolis. On our new construction projects we typically act as the Developer, Builder, and Property Manager. We also serve a select group of clients on 3rd party work. Yellow Tree is a fast growing company with a $100M backlog in development projects.

Position Summary

The Punch Carpenter will get involved approximately 3 - 4 weeks prior to an apartment building achieving TCO (temporary certificate of occupancy) and tenants moving in. While the Superintendents and Project Mangers are focused on passing final inspections, the Punch Carpenter will be focused on getting apartment units "move-in ready".

Responsibilities

For each apartment unit, a punchlist will be generated by the project team and/or architect/owner. The Punch Carpenter is responsible for executing the list. Example of common punchlist items:

• Minor paint touch up
• Caulking gaps in trim and cabinets
• Leveling appliances/installing missing handles, escutcheons, etc.
• Adjusting cabinet doors and drawers
• Adjusting doors and door closures
• Identifying incomplete subcontractor items and driving these to closure (e.g. missing shower door or drywall patching)

Qualifications

• Has at least 2 years of experience in a general carpentry trade
• The applicant should display strong sense of urgency and understand how to work within deadlines with the ability to prioritize.
• Work independently and as a team member.
• Must be able to use a wide variety of hand and power tools, including power tools such as saws, drills and nail guns, and basic hand tools such as a hammer, framer's square and measuring tape.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check
• Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States
• Current driver's license
• 40+ hours weekly
• Good communication skills
