Summary

As part of the Marketing and Communications Team, the Generalist helps to ensure firm growth and stability by focusing on new client acquisition; client retention; branding activities and initiatives; and mission, vision, and culture communications. The Team is responsible for developing and implementing firmwide and functional area strategic initiatives and corresponding annual Marketing/Communication plans and activities. The Generalist role has a technical slant and will complement the existing team as the primary contact for digital marketing strategies and website platform management; email marketing software management; engaging with the firm's client intake and prospect journey process, and assisting with all Salesforce-related Mar/Comm data management and reporting. The Generalist engages with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMO) and Senior Manager to ensure coverage on all Mar/Comm Team responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Manages the firm's digital marketing strategy and execution. Serves as primary liaison to a digital marketing agency partner. Includes SEO and SEM management; planning and posting social media communications; ensuring adherence to compliance policies; ensuring adherence to graphic identity and quality standards, and coordinating colleague input and requests related to social media. Also includes activity tracking and reporting.

Works to ensure optimization of the CCM website for prospective client interaction. Will partner with Mar/Comm Team members and outside agency on a future website redesign and lead components of the project. Serves as the internal colleague responsible for website technical/backend management.

Along with CMO, serves as the primary internal resource for Marketing Cloud (email software) management and optimization. Works with internal and external partners (Tech/Ops and Salesforce) to leverage CRM/FSC to facilitate optimal targeted communications and engagement tracking.

Partners with CMO and business development colleagues in supporting and engaging in the firm's end-to-end client intake and prospect journey process. Supports content for the Prospect Portal. Assists with all Salesforce-related Mar/Comm data management and client record tracking, and will be the central point of contact for database lead entries; as well as lead and prospect conversions. Assists with pipeline management.

Responsible for monitoring the firm's web presence on sites not controlled by the firm and monitoring social media activities where the firm's name may be used. Utilizes Google keywords for updates on firm and advisor-related news posts.

As part of the Mar/Comm team, the Generalist is one of several internal writers for the firm. Includes serving as a writer and editor on marketing collateral, web content, internal forms and documents, client communications, invitations, and event communications. Also is responsible for managing the technical platform for virtual events assists and assists with event management (including attendance).

Along with Senior Manager, serves as the primary internal resource for editing video content. Backs up the Senior Manager on responsibility for marketing collateral management. Includes assessment of existing materials, seeking input on the creation of new materials needed by or requested from advisors, managing internal inventory, and serving as a contact for the firm's designer and printer in coordinating new material creation.

Seamlessly engages with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and Senior Manager on all Mar/Comm Team priorities, which can be fluid and shift according to timely initiatives. Provides in-person task execution as needed in CCM offices with CMO working remotely.

Responsible for helping to enhance the firm's corporate culture and colleague experience in observance of CCM One Voice and Founder's Mentality principles.


Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Communications, English, Marketing or related major preferred.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in marketing and communications in a business setting preferred; agency experience optimal.
  • Digital marketing and website management experience required.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, SEM and utilizing social media in advancing brand awareness.
  • Customer/Client Relationship Management (CRM) software and email marketing software experience preferred.
  • Strong technical acumen and data management and analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong writing abilities and editing experience.
  • Experience with end-to-end production of branded collateral materials.
  • Professional orientation and high standards for presenting internal and external clients with a high quality experience.
  • Keen attention to detail is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Interest and ability to professionally represent the firm in the community.
