II. Job Summary:
The Training Coach is responsible for providing coaching and case management support for participants as they work to reach their credentialed training and employment goals. Emerge staff seeks to build mutually respectful, outcome-driven relationships with participants, staff, training partners, and other community stakeholders to promote the delivery of holistic services at Emerge. Additionally, staff are responsible for completing thorough reporting and evaluation practices and other administrative tasks to ensure compliance with agency and funder guidelines.
III. Job Responsibilities:
Training Coaches perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:
- Work collaboratively with Emerge staff to complete intake, assessment, and enrollment of participants in credentialed training programs
- Assess participants' skills, interests, and aptitudes by administering relevant assessments
- Assist participants in completing an Individual Employment Plan
- Maintain a minimum of weekly contact with training participants, course instructors, and training staff to ensure educational objectives are being met, especially goals related to promoting economic mobility
- Complete Service Needs Assessment with participant to identify barriers to training program completion and assist them in managing barriers so they can successfully reach their goals
- Work diligently with participants to attain jobs within their training field including writing resumes, applying for jobs online, and directly calling employers to promote individuals for job vacancies
- Connect training participants with the Financial Wellness team in order to set financial goals and build wealth
- Perform career services and monitor participant accountability to ensure contract compliance
- Regularly and accurately complete all data entry requirements in a timely manner, including utilizing multiple databases and paper files
- Perform any other tasks and duties necessary in order for the agency to meet its mission
IV. Position Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in human services, adult education, or counseling field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- 2+ years experience in adult education, social work, and/or career coaching, including knowledge, skills, and experience with case management
- Proficiency in Somali preferred
- Experience providing coaching support to participants enrolled in credentialed training programs and working with multiple community and education partners preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose clients and staff reflect significant diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, socio-economic status, nationality and religion.

- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
V. Working Conditions and Environment:
CROC: Incumbent will have a private office/designated workspace in a typical office environment. The building is one level and fully accessible and is smoke-free. Work will include regular local travel. Working hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8 am-5:00 pm, but will include occasional evening and weekend hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, sometimes loud.
