The Supply Chain and Operations (SCO) Department at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota invites applicants for two Senior Lecturer positions in Supply Chain and Operations Management. These annual, renewable positions are full-time, non-tenure track, nine-month appointments starting August 29, 2022.
Job responsibilities include teaching, advising, and mentoring students within the supply chain and operations department across courses in undergraduate and master’s degree programs.
Primary responsibility is teaching an introductory applied business statistics course using R. Course topics include (but not limited to) descriptive statistics, random variables, probability distributions, statistical inference, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests, correlation, and introduction to linear regression. Emphasis is on statistical reasoning and how to implement statistical methods in a business context using R. An objective of the course is to develop students’ proficiency in using the R programming language for statistical applications.
Other responsibilities may include supporting the teaching and service mission of the SCO Department. Teaching includes courses in undergraduate and master’s programs. We are interested in candidates with capabilities and interest in teaching supply chain courses such as big data analytics in supply chains, supply chain analytics, sustainable supply chain, sourcing, logistics, service management, planning and control, technology management, project management, process improvement, lean, and global supply chain strategy, among others.
Service mission of the SCO Department includes mentoring, advising, educating, and exciting students about supply chain. Participation on committees, develop curriculum, and active involvement in partnerships with the business community are expected.
