Position Summary:

ADOGO Groomers and Bathers are to conduct themselves in a professional manner with staff members and customers, providing top quality grooming services and personalized recommendations to owners regarding the grooming care of their dogs. ADOGO Groomers and Bathers are encouraged to market themselves and ADOGO Grooming in order to build their consumer business and build relationships in the pet industry. They are also encouraged to continue their personal education in the pet grooming industry in order to stay current with grooming techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide top quality grooming, baths and other additional spa services while gently handling dogs and muzzling as needed. All dogs in the ADOGO Spa should be kenneled when not being bathed or groomed and should be secured on tables and in bathtubs during grooming services. Groomers must never leave dogs unattended on a grooming table or this could lead to termination. Dogs should only be kenneled for 3 hours and must be taken out for a potty break, on leash in the back yard after grooming. Provide professional customer service including: greeting the customer and listening to their instructions/needs, provide suggestions and recommendations regarding the groom and ongoing care, bring the groomed/bathed dog to the customer upon check-out to ensure that the customer is satisfied.

  • Appointments: Groomers and Bathers are to take calls for grooming appointments and book appointments in Petexec.net (for themselves and any grooming team member) and confirm upcoming appointments with their clients. They should work with Front Desk team to get copies of their daily groom appointments and to keep them informed of their schedule and availability. Groomers and bathers are encouraged to call their customers for appointment booking 4-6 weeks prior to when their dog should be bathed or groomed.

  • Cleaning: ADOGO Groomers and Bathers are responsible for keeping the ADOGO Spa clean and ready for the next day. This includes: vacuuming up all hair and debris, cleaning the tables, bathtubs, counters and dog kennels, taking out the garbage at the end of the day, making sure the disinfectant bottles, shampoos and conditioner bottles are full, mopping at the end of the day and making sure that towels are clean and available. Groomers and Bathers should also inform Front Desk and/or Management of any dogs remaining in grooming prior to leaving for the day.

  • Marketing/Promotions: create relationships within the pet industry, build awareness in the western suburbs and surrounding communities of ADOGO in addition to building relationships and awareness with existing ADOGO customers, encouraged to write tips and recommendations for the ADOGO Blog and present to management for approval, help come up with monthly customer promotions and build business by distributing ADOGO cards and coupons or other promotions and events implemented by ADOGO Management.

  • Events: participate in ADOGO sponsored dog events in addition to other pet-related community events whenever possible.

Dress Code:

Groomers should wear comfortable but presentable attire such as kaki-style or walking-style pants or long shorts (tan, black, grey, green, navy) with an ADOGO shirt unless a black smock is being worn, closed-toe walking-style or tennis shoes. Jeans are not allowed in the dress code.
