What to Expect

Support engineering groups while working within the research and development of power electronics systems, including fabricating test setups, fixtures, cable harnesses, troubleshooting electromechanical issues in a high voltage lab environment.


What You'll Do
  • Read electronic schematics, mechanical drawings and plumbing diagrams or work from written / verbal instructions using little or no formally released documentation.
  • Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies and other standard EE lab equipment.
  • Experience building, operating and troubleshooting electromechanical assemblies
  • Familiar and comfortable with hand tools and some power tools. Knowledge of machine shop practices a plus.
  • Machine shop experience, knee mill, lathe, drill press, vertical and horizontal band saw, bench grinder.
  • Construct, test and repair prototype devices under test.
  • Troubleshoot various systems using documentation, instrumentation and input from engineer.
  • Experience building high current, high voltage test fixtures and knowledge of high voltage safety.
  • Fabricate cable harnesses, familiar with various connector types and crimp tools, automotive a plus.
  • Familiarity in fabrication with aluminum t-slot extrusion medium
  • Navigate computer systems and software necessary to perform test using programs such as Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel. LabView, Python, MySQL, Solidworks, CATIA, Altium, JIRA a plus.
  • CNC programming and operation experience a plus.
  • PCBA rework and soldering a plus.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Self-starter, motivated person.
  • Ability to regularly lift 40 lbs.

    Expected Compensation

    $24.00 - $65.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
