Job Description

Data Warehouse Developers build Data Mart and Data Warehouse solutions that support fast, accurate, and meaningful data insight. You are the go-to expert on scalable and reliable DW/DM architecture, database performance and tuning, and relevant healthcare data requirements.

What You'll Do

You will have broad responsibility for CoverMyMeds' data warehousing initiatives. On any day, you might:

  • Develop and maintain T-SQL stored procedures.

  • Performance-tune problem queries and aid analysts in optimization through techniques such as reading execution plans, adding indexes, or re-architecting poorly designed queries.

  • Perform ETL from disparate systems into data marts and analytics models

  • Work with our product owner, business analyst, and/or stakeholders from our analytics teams to define requirements for development

  • Deliver data products using agile methodologies

  • Re-model or re-architect legacy solutions so that they are more suited for the current (ex: Tableau) or future tech stack (ex: Azure cloud environment)

About You

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience

  • Multiple years of experience in a related technical field, ideally inclusive of database development, data analysis and data architecture

  • A strong understanding of relational architectures and tools. Practical experience using SQL. Diverse experience with other relational database or NoSQL databases is a plus.

  • Mastery of T-SQL, PL/SQL equivalent development

  • Expertise in high volume, transactional environments with third-party business system integrations

  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star Schemas) and techniques is a plus

  • Basic ETL background using technologies such as SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), Pentaho Data Integration, Informatica, command line, Python or other technologies

  • Strong understanding of RDBMS normalization and denormalization concepts

  • Proficient in performance troubleshooting, indexing, SQL optimization, and benchmarking

  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a highly creative, collaborative, and dynamic environment. Experience with agile development techniques is a plus.

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry with healthcare data is a plus

  • Fluency in reading and interpreting data models
