Director, Downstream Marketing (Interventional Urology)

The Director, Downstream Marketing will lead Coloplast's downstream marketing efforts for the Men's Health, Women's Health and Endourology businesses. The position leads short-term & long-term strategic product portfolio marketing for product lines for the North American Market. These strategic initiatives will also be shared and handed off to the the Global Marketing team in Paris, France, with strong collaboration and alignment. This leader will work closely in collaboration with the North American sales team and the broader marketing team to ensure alignment and success of the key initiatives the downstream marketing team is driving and delivering., This leader will work across the organization to integrate the existing product portfolio, implement marketing plans, develop and deploy programs, establish contracts and pricing and manage specific projects in support of the product portfolio and overall aspects of portfolio brand management. This leader will work closely to support sales and marketing initiatives, product and campaign launches through the design, development, coordination and/or implementation of ongoing training programs that include: sales skills, product knowledge, and clinical knowledge.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Manage direct reports, including the Sr. Marketing Managers of MH, WH and Endourology to ensure they are performing to their job descriptions and developing professional acumen.
  • Lead the team responsible for managing all marketing and business aspects of defined products including: product launch, forecasting, budgeting, marketing plans, sales and customer training, voice of customer for product improvements, marketing literature, medical conventions/shows, and ongoing promotion campaigns.
  • Drive and support revenue growth, pricing, and commercialization of North American Interventional Urology businesses.
  • Lead the development and execution of new product launches in the US.
  • Identify growth opportunities, and create and implement marketing programs, targeting key customers to grow the global business.
  • Interact with key opinion leaders and medical societies in the US.
  • Develops and coordinates core content covering product knowledge, customer knowledge, key clinical data, as well as relevant selling environment information to ensure new hires are fully knowledgeable of all key focus areas for Coloplast.
  • Work closely with the physician training and sales training teams training teams to elevate product knowledge and competitive selling skills.
  • Develops a "mentoring mentality" among with their team to help prepare them for management opportunities as appropriate.
  • Works/travels with field sales representatives to understand the needs of the field, physicians, economic customers and patients
  • Partner with other marketing leaders and team members to develop and execute best in class materials and programs to extend life changing treatment to patients.
  • Manage relationships with physicians, functional leaders and team members, KOLs and physicians to create new programs and initiatives.
  • Responsible for marketing budgets and analytics to ensure optimal marketing impact from resources and programs.
  • Lead the execution of training programs including agenda development, program hosting and program management
  • Partner with Global partners in coordination of international physician training events that include US faculty
  • Provide market voice of customer and voice of field insight and direction to potential new products and programs.
  • Interpret and translate scientific clinical data into commercial implications.
  • Interface with the Strategic Upstream Marketing team to to assess new product opportunities.
  • Drive input into pricing strategy through analysis of internal and external variables impacting brand profitability to meet market dynamics, and develop pricing recommendations for new products.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop and rationalize products and services in line with customer needs and business requirements.
  • Conducts regular product portfolio analysis and make recommendations on strategic and tactical plans to align with shifts/trends in the market.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of the market by monitoring the competitive market, pricing, and reimbursement information, identifying trends or changes that will impact business, and recommending actions and contingency plans to maximize opportunities for Coloplast.
  • Manage marketing initiatives, including product catalogs, press releases, and advertising schedules, as well as coordinating and implementing industry tradeshows on an annual basis.
  • Drives the development of business strategies by capturing and mining market insight and translating it into actionable, differentiated programs.
  • Collaborate with North American Marketing and Sales Directors to align Marketing initiatives and sales compensation to meet sales objectives.
  • Manage the discretionary budget with P&L accountability to meet top- and bottom-line business objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing or other related degree is required. A MBA with marketing or other relevant emphasis is preferred.
  • 10+ years of downstream marketing experience in medical device or comparable industry with 5+ year of leadership experience.
  • Strong commercial marketing orientation and commercial marketing experience with a solid understanding of US healthcare value chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions to prioritize and drive strategic objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate high degree of initiative and self-motivation with a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems with minimal direction and make decisions with confidence
  • Aptitude to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines
