We are hiring a Buyer to join our team. A Buyer is responsible for the purchasing of current and newly designed product assuring lowest cost, on-time delivery and processing of non-conforming product. A Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the maintenance of the ERP data that supports production. Must be able to extract and analyze data and recognize trends to meet company cost and supply requirements and develop solutions through day to day Purchasing activities. Decision making that requires ability in problem solving, analysis, reasoning, and creativity. Compliance through daily activities to meet CFR 820 requirements.
Your Focus:
Initiate and Manage Purchasing and Supply Planning as dictated by MRP. Ensure requirements are communicated to the suppliers, confirmations are received, Vendor forecasts are initiated, PO expediting, Tracking past due orders and Resolving order related discrepancies.
Weekly/Monthly exception reporting and Master Data Management of EOQ, MOQ, Lead Times and Pricing.
Work with cross-functional teams to address receiving, inspection and inventory issue resolution; including but not limited to NCE's and CAPA's.
Responsible for tracking and managing customer Backorders and providing input to Customer Service and Service Operations teams.
Ensure Supplier's adhere to pricing and lead time by ensuring on time delivery of product at the negotiated price.
Ability to identify opportunities for savings and take on adjunct project functions to support the Strategic Sourcing Agents.
Conduct and/or Participate in supplier visits
Support Indirect Ordering Requirements
What It Takes:
A minimum Bachelor's degree/Or 5-7 years' experience in procurement.
APICS certification a plus
FDA, Medical, cGMP, Pharmaceuticals background a plus.
Minimum of 3 years related work experience in purchasing and/or function, including two in a manufacturing environment.
Microsoft Excel experience with ability to create formulas, pivot tables and perform intermediate to advanced functions.
Working knowledge of an integrated planning system; JD Edwards a plus.
5-10% travel may be required

Thorough working knowledge of:
ERP/MRP systems and use of associated purchasing and inventory modules

Supplier assessment and negotiation principles
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability and willingness to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, multiple deadlines and multi-task at a rapid pace.

Ability to work with and maintain databases and spread sheets.
Must be self-directed and have a willingness to become a Subject Matter Expert for the department and team.
