JOB PURPOSE:

Provide solutions to critical business issues and opportunities across the global supply chain and manufacturing network. Apply industry best practices in experimental design, data collection, and analytics along with deep functional excellence in supply chain and operations to pinpoint optimized go forward pathways that meet customer expectations while minimizing end to end cost.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead multiple concurrent cross-functional investigation teams to address critical business issues and opportunities
  • Investigate complex supply chain and manufacturing issues and opportunities to filter out true customer expectations; existing network resource performance, capability, and capacity to establish a coherent problem statement and null hypothesis
  • Apply operations and business strategy and cross-functional collaboration to guide the establishment of the goal statement and the alternative hypotheses to be evaluated
  • Establish critical input and output variables and evaluate existing data adequacy
  • Define data acquisition approaches as needed to meet baseline requirements
  • Maintain consistent internal and external data benchmarks through relevant industry research
  • Analyze data to test alternative hypotheses and, with team, propose recommended solutions and reasoned options to senior leadership
  • Identify potential issues and opportunities through data analytics and provide insights to leadership
  • Work with internal and external elements of the supply chain network, explore and validate improvement opportunities
  • Ensure appropriate communication and governance through the preparation and presentation of formal financial information, business cases, reports and documentation to stakeholders and leadership
  • All other assignments as requested

JOB DIMENSIONS:

  • Investigations are sponsored at the Vice President or Managing Director level
  • Typical project impacts would be $250K to $5M and occasionally larger
  • Partners closely with Finance
  • Works with all plants, business functions, and other internal customers globally
  • Works with suppliers and external customers as needed
  • May supervise others either directly or indirectly

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in supply chain, operations, finance, statistics, or mathematics
  • 8 plus years' experience operations or supply chain analytics experience in a multi-plant environment; global experience preferred
  • Basic expertise to identify and create qualitative and quantitative measures of success and failure
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Adept critical thinker with the ability to utilize creative analysis and practical assumptions to solve complex problems and deliver key data within tight deadlines
  • Ability to break down complex ideas and issues and communicate in simple terms to different levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively and diplomatically interact; must be patient, tactful, and flexible with people
  • Highly self-motivated, ability to work under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple objectives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to plan and organize to accurately take effective actions
  • Excellent computer skills including SAP, QlikView, MSBI, SharePoint, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Capacity to work independently as well as within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Up to 10% travel (domestic and international)
