Job Description
Job Summary
As a Systems Engineer at the Center for Diagnostic Imaging you will install new hardware and software releases, perform system upgrades, evaluats and installspatches, and resolve software and hardware related problems. You will also perform system backups and recovery; and maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.
(65%) Systems Maintenance & Implementations
* Administers, monitors, and maintains all application, servers and storage with 24x7 support with target up time 99.999%
* Conducts hardware and software configuration management, server administration, storage administration, data backup and recovery, clustering, redundancy, failover, fault tolerance, equipment monitoring and maintenance, documentation and management of systems, commercial-off-the-shelf software, custom software, other information technology infrastructure, and the generation and upkeep of system availability and performance reports
* Reviews, plans and evaluates server and storage systems
* Provides system performance, tuning, internals and root cause determination
* Works closely with the development team to define and implement platform requirements, performance measurements, capacity planning, and security standards
* Installs, configures, administers, upgrades, and troubleshoots operating systems and server software
* Troubleshoots server, storage capabilities and recommends improvements as necessary
* Ensures that systems are available to all system users and resolves data communication problems
(30%) Department Support
* Designs solutions based on customer requirements and best practices
* Maintains documentation on system administration standards, best practices, and quality improvements, ensuring that Systems Administration processes, procedures, and documentation remain up-to-date and consistent with current technologies
* Provides documentation, project tracking and management reporting on a daily basis
* Maintains current server components inventory
* Maintains licenses and vendor relationships
* Provides tactical and strategic input on overall server planning
* Evaluates and recommends hardware and software products
* Provides estimates for assigned deliverables to Manager, System Engineer
(5%) Completes other tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements

Required:

* Associates degree and 4-6 years experience in client server environment
* Advanced Windows Server experience
* Intermediate SQL Database experience
* Knowledge in the following areas: Active Directory, MS SQL, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SCCM
* Advanced server hardware knowledge
* Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance


Preferred:
*Advanced knowledge of backup and data recovery TSM experience
