The Sr. Security Technology Consultant, Physical Security Technology, is a member of UnitedHealth Group's (UHG) Corporate Security team. The Corporate Security group is responsible for the Workplace Security Program that ensures the protection of the company's global workforce and physical assets through security risk management platforms. The Sr. Security Technology Consultant, Physical Security Technology, will be responsible for identifying and delivering innovative technology solutions that provide value and align with the overall Corporate Security Technology roadmap related to enterprise wide, global physical security protection, visitor management and access credentialing systems. This role will be based at UHG's Corporate Headquarters in Minnetonka, MN and will report into the Global Physical Security Operations team.

Candidates need to have in-depth experience in researching, procuring, testing and implementing large scale physical security technology solutions used for asset and facility protection, enterprise access control, credentialing administration, visitor management, video surveillance and vendor management systems. This role will be responsible for influencing and recommending solution options that add value and integrate with existing and future physical security systems and technologies. The candidate will work directly with various internal and external stakeholders to include Information Technology (IT) delivery teams as well as physical security integrators while troubleshooting system issues and managing the technology maintenance and upgrade paths. This individual will also be part of the product ownership team and will help prioritize and manage work streams that drive new innovative solutions while maximizing the efficiencies of current operating systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review, research and recommend technology solutions that integrate with existing and future physical security systems and equipment
  • Review, research and recommend physical security technology solutions for critical facilities, including Data Center and Pharmaceutical Distribution Center operations
  • Partner with various IT delivery teams and vendor integration teams to drive successful product implementation and execution
  • Manage and prioritize product backlogs with agile IT delivery teams along with defining the technology maintenance and upgrade paths
  • Develop and deliver physical security technology subject matter expertise to leadership across all existing and future applications
  • Identify gaps, issues and best practices through the monitoring of physical security and enterprise access credentialing systems equipment
  • Lead innovative solution ideas related to physical security systems technology, access control and vendor management integration strategies
  • Develop product and application lifecycle plans for technologies and data aggregation systems located with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)
  • Build strong relationships with key IT business delivery teams and vendor integration teams
  • Assist in the facilitation of quarterly Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) assessments of physical security integrators


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable area of expertise (Engineering, IT, Facilities Management) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a physical security systems integrator or developer
  • 3+ years of experience integrating access control systems and video surveillance platforms within a global, corporate environment
  • Experience providing expert recommendations surrounding the maintenance, operation and upgrading of existing security technology platforms and systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lenel Professional Certifications
  • Experience with HID Suite of products
  • Agile Product Owner and Product Delivery Experience
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP) (or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of hire date)
