POSITION OVERVIEW:
The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time, exempt opening for the Tank Farm Supervisor. This Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe, environmentally sound, and reliable operation of the Tank Farm that support the achievement of the SPPRC’s mission – creating value by optimizing the refinery through safe and reliable operations, responding to market opportunities and positively impacting the community.
JOB DUTIES:

Support, align, and communicate SPPRC’s mission, vision, strategy, and goals.

Drives safety, environmental, quality, and reliability excellence.

Overall supervision of all Operations personnel in the Tank Farm and direct supervision of the Tank Farm Day Foreman, Process Specialist, and Training Specialist. The Tank Farm includes equipment for storing and transferring crude oil, refinery unit feedstock, gasoline, gasoline blend components, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, asphalt, and LPG as well as operation of the refinery wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).

Ensure Tank Farm personnel have the training, equipment, and procedures to complete their assigned tasks.

Support implementation of policies, practices and procedures; and audits adherence them.

Supervisor for Tank Farm. Refinery Area Teams include personnel from Maintenance, Engineering, Technical Service, Commercial Operations, Environmental, and Safety.

Oversight of all tactical (short-medium term) activities such as finished product blend planning; finished product shipping; preparing & managing the area budget; coordinating/supporting maintenance activities; overall planning/support of tank repairs; and engineering project support as well as input and support of long term planning and major projects in the Tank Farm.

Provide coaching and mentoring to ensure safety and support employee performance improvement efforts.

Recognize differences in others, treat everyone with respect, listen to all ideas & opinions, and provide feedback to co-workers and Tank Farm personnel.

Ensure safe operation through review/approval of all change management requests (MOC/PSSR), Operating Procedures, Training Guides, and Incident Investigations; plus drive completion of PSM recommendations and action items in a timely manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
At minimum, 5 years of working experience in a refinery, chemical, and/or petrochemical operation

Experience leading groups or teams

Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

Self-motivated individual who takes initiative to get results

Knowledge of and experience with OSHA PSM (CFR 1910.119) and/or PHMSA pipeline DOT
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelors of Science, Engineering preferred; or 15 years’ experience in petrochemical/ operations
-
Experience supervising refinery, chemical, and/or petrochemical operators
-
Experience with critical, fast paced decision making
