The Territory Sales Representative contributes to the growth of the College division by driving acquisition of new customers, deepening distribution penetration within current customers and providing exemplary customer service and account management within the defined territory. The Territory Sales Representative utilizes a combination of: |

The fundamental responsibility of the Territory Sales Representative is to deliver on the divisional business plan within their territory. In doing so, the Territory Sales Representative effectively translates the business plan into account specific tactics and coordinates the customer facing team (Sales Representative, Regional Sales Manager, Sales Associates and Regional Service Team Manager) behind that plan. The Territory Sales Representative is able to successfully advance through the selling cycle in highly political customer environments and effectively manage the balance between sales, service and administrative responsibilities. The Territory Sales Representative will thoroughly understand the college/university market, B2B selling processes designed to position Jostens as a strategic resource to our customers and B2C marketing execution including retail merchandising. This position will also work with newly hired sales representatives in his/her territory as a trainer/mentor as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.
The Territory Sales Representative works with key University constituents such as the President, Registrar, Bookstore Manager, Athletic Director and Director of Alumni Relations to position Jostens as a strategic resource. This position sells in a consultative manner to utilizing recognition and affiliation programs to assist the customer in addressing key business issues such as: graduation rate, student retention, alumni participation and brand execution. The Territory Sales Representative also leads the planning and execution of the consumer promotional marketing plan within the defined territory.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field |
- 5-10 years sales and/or marketing experience
- Experience in the University market preferred
- Experience with business to business customer acquisition and account management
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to lead and direct the efforts of a customer facing team
- Strong computer competence with high proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and internet familiarity
- Financial acumen and skill regarding profit and loss, planning/forecasting, budgeting and reporting
- Significant regional travel required; approximately 70%
