Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in an autonomous manner. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be to coordinate and supervise patient care delegated to Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants and other assistive personnel. All applicants work experience, education and background will determine which position they may be qualified for. All positions require current, Minnesota RN licensure and current CPR certification.

Additional Information

3 North/South is a Cardiovascular/Advanced Care unit for patients who require close monitoring and advanced nursing skills following vascular surgery or during a medical crisis this includes unstable patients with cardiac, renal, pulmonary or multi-system disorders. We are the primary unit for Pulmonary Hypertension and Remodulin/Flolan therapy. Our unit goal is to have over 50% of our nurses certified in either CCRN or PCCN by the end of 2009. We are currently on the journey to become a nationally recognized Beacon Critical Care Unit. Our overall mean patient survey responses are between 85% and 100% very good. We offer a Shared Governance model on our unit and have a high employee satisfaction rating.
