Community Outreach to Diversity Organizations

RECONNECT provides re-entry services that help inmates prepare for release and gives ex-offenders much-needed resources in their search for jobs, housing, clothing, family services and more. We also participate in numerous support classes such as SRD (Stop the Revolving Door), TRIAD (Chemical Dependency Unit), Sex Offender classes, Mock Job Fairs, and Transition Fairs.

The Aurora St. Anthony Neighborhood Development Corporation's (ASANDC) purpose is to address the needs of neighborhood quality of life issues, advocacy, and community economic and housing development. Our mission is to foster positive relationships within and between neighborhoods, and to support its community members in effecting their choices relative to the quality of life in their neighborhoods.

Catholic Charities is one of the Twin Cities' largest private providers of social services, working to strengthen families and reduce poverty in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area. With a diverse range of programs, Catholic Charities helps tens of thousands of people annually, regardless of faith.

CAC is able to provide holistic, long-term services for families and the community because all staff are trained to provide basic assistance in a multitude of areas including: food, financial assistance, child care, child neglect and maltreatment, domestic violence, sexual assault, safety planning, mentoring partnerships, and school success. When more intensive services are needed in a particular area, interdisciplinary teams, comprised of staff with the needed expertise, work directly with the family until problems are resolved.

Community Action of Minneapolis provides programs and services for low-income residents of Minneapolis. We are dedicated to helping people improve their lives. Community Action of Minneapolis identifies, interprets and translates the needs of people with limited resources to key decision makers—that result in greater sensitivity, the elimination of barriers to access and increased opportunities for people with limited resources to experience success in their lives.

Our mission is to mobilize community resources to reduce poverty in Ramsey & Washington counties. We accomplish our mission through community engagement initiatives, including the Community Blueprint to End Poverty. We also provide direct services to low-income families through our Energy Assistance, Energy Conservation, Foundations for Success, Head Start and Early Head Start, Self-Sufficiency, and Senior Nutrition programs.

Organized in 1915, East Side Neighborhood Services, Inc. (ESNS) is a nonprofit human service agency that provides social and other services to individuals, families and neighborhoods primarily of Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis and surrounding communities. Its purpose is to assist people of all ages and backgrounds in realizing a higher quality of life. Family, youth, senior and employment programs are offered.

EMERGE is a new housing, employment and community development organization, built on years of experience and stability within Pillsbury United Communities. EMERGE Workforce®™ delivers training, career counseling, job placement and ongoing support for participants in an effort to develop their wage-earning and wealth-building potential and increase access to professional development.

Employee Development Corporation (EDC) is a private rehabilitation firm, certified by the State of Minnesota, which provides Qualified Rehabilitation Consultant (QRC) services to persons who are industrially injured. We work with all parties (employers, insurers, attorneys, doctors, etc.) who are involved with each injured worker, coordinating their input within a rehabilitation process to result in that worker's return to suitable work as quickly and safely as possible.

Genesis II for Families is a comprehensive social service agency, providing a range of non-residential services for women and their children residing primarily in the Twin Cities Metro area. Our mission is to promote social change by strengthening families and the community through programs that encourage self determination, self sufficiency, and healthy family lifestyles.

Hope Community has a 29-year history of community connection in one of the most diverse and economically challenged areas in Minneapolis, MN. We began as a place for people to gather in community. Our original shelter and hospitality house was a respite from the isolation and pain of homelessness. When drugs and violence overwhelmed the neighborhood and others focused on the negatives, Hope took a stand for community and children. Over the last 10 years, we designed and built the two-square block Hope Campus in a neighborhood a mile south of downtown Minneapolis.

The mission of THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MINNESOTA is to: 1) provide a center for information and assembly for all nationalities and races; 2) develop fellowship and understanding among such persons through group meetings and activities; 3) promote the welfare of our foreign-born population and their families; and 4) preserve and stimulate intercultural values.

JFS began in 1910 as a charitable non-profit. It evolved into a comprehensive social services agency, providing services to all community members and ethnic groups as it continually adapts to the changing needs of society. The mission of the agency is to improve the lives of people in need. This is accomplished by providing non-profit individual and family services with high integrity and professional skills, including cultural sensitivity to Jewish people in the greater St. Paul area.

Founded in 1910, Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) is an innovative career development agency that strives to benefit its customers and clientele and enhance the community and society. The mission of JVS is to be a recognized leader in delivering employment, training, and career development services that positively impact individuals of all backgrounds, business, and society.

In 2001, Jobs for Minnesota’s Graduates was established. Today, JAG-Minnesota operates 14 programs serving students in grades 9 to 12. JAG Model programs are designed to identify students who possess a significant number of barriers to stay in school, complete a high school diploma, secure an entry level quality job that leads to a career, and/or pursue a postsecondary education.

Lavender, Minnesota's GLBT magazine, is an award-winning, free biweekly magazine with features on local and national news, politics, travel, arts and entertainment, nightlife and cuisine. We distribute at more than 550 sites in the Twin Cities metropolitan market, with additional targeted distribution throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
